Gamifying Education is in full swing!
The first training activity of this Strategic Partnership took place at the beginning of March in the Czech Republic. The training focused on live action games, one of the three types of educational games being fine-tuned during the partnership.
The mobility brought together youth workers from Estonia, Spain, Romania, and the Czech Republic who are interested in the use of games in education and youth work. In the programme, participants learned how to facilitate game-based learning activities, gained access to tools and resources for developing their own innovative educational activities, cooperated in an intercultural environment, and, together with the trainers, shared their experiences and best practices in game-based learning.
This short, but intense training consisted of three full working days, during which the participants also got the chance to experience educational games which were developed on previous trainings and projects facilitated by the partner organizations.
On the first day, all the participants played Ticket to Holiday, a game with an important social inequality message. Then, the different national groups facilitated four games to be tested, feedback and fine-tuned during the project:
- The Forest, a game about communication, cooperation and cultural understanding
- The Island, a game focusing on team work
- Startup Life, a game exploring the different options of making money and investing
- Transylvania Corp, a game about discrimination during the hiring process
The training was led by Filip Gábor (BeInternational), Pavel Vassiljev (Shokkin Group Estonia) and graphically facilitated by Olalla Gonzalez (Ticket2Europe).
“Gamifying Education” is funded by Erasmus+ through the Czech National agency Dům zahraniční spolupráce.
