Trainer Profiles
Pavel Vassiljev (Estonia)
“I have been lucky to learn through games all my life. In secondary school we had game-based psychology classes, in high school game-based entrepreneurship program and even in university I had a chance to learn in a simulation-based program with many gamified elements. I strongly believe that playing and playing games is the most natural way of learning.
As a non-formal learning trainer I use a lot of games and spend time creating game-based approaches in the contexts of youth work, education and lifelong learning. I enjoy working on creating educational tabletop and escape games the most since these formats allow you to create great learning opportunities that will be encrusted in the memory of players.”
Filip Gabor (Czechia)
“I dreamt of many things when I was a kid. One of them, sometime after I wanted to get a job as the next Indiana Jones, was to become a video game developer. Needless to say, I’ve never became one, but my passion for games grew with time.
Early in my practice as a non-formal education trainer I have discovered the potential game-based learning approaches offer. I was immediately sold. I love using simple gamification elements to enhance the working and learning processes. Apart from that, I am into developing simulations and role-playing games that leave the learners’ minds full of emotions, sensations and – sometimes – frustrations. This in my opinion is a great recipe for an efficient learning process.”
