How can live-action role-playing (LARP) support learning in youth work? During our Erasmus+ training course R.I.S.E., youth workers and educators explored this question by playing, facilitating and reflecting on educational LARPs.

Along the way, trainers and participants shared games, materials and ideas from their own practice. We collected these in a resource list, including the LARPs used during the training, so others can explore them too.

The training placed particular attention on preparing players, creating safe learning spaces and supporting reflection after the game. These are important parts of using LARP to explore different perspectives and address complex topics with young people.

Whether you are curious about educational LARP or already use it in your work, we hope this collection gives you ideas for your next activity. Explore the resources, consider what fits your group and take time to prepare before bringing a game into your own setting.

This resource was developed as a result of the international training course “R.I.S.E.”, organized in November 2025 in Estonia as part of the Erasmus+ KA1 Accreditation of Shokkin Group Estonia, funded by the Erasmus+ programme through the Estonian National Agency.
